Donald Seibold, age 81, of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Carrington and Cathay, ND, died Monday, June 21, 2010, after spending Father’s Day surrounded by his family at Med Center One Hospital in Bismarck.
Donald Richard Seibold was born on January 29, 1929, the son of Edward and Edna (Herringer) Seibold in Cathay, ND. He graduated from Cathay High School in 1946, and attended college in Valley City, ND where he played football.
On October 30, 1948, Don married Alice Hagemeister at Cathay, and they had five children together. Alice passed away on December 24, 1962. He married Davidean “Debbie” Cadieux on August 22, 1964 at New Rockford. She had been widowed with three children. A year later, Don and Debbie adopted each other’s children. Later they brought a foster daughter, Sharon, into their family. They lived in Cathay, where he operated the Seibold Cleaning Plant and farmed for 42 years.
He was a born-again Christian and was active in the community and his church. He served on the school board, participated in Gideons, taught Sunday School, went on mission trips, was a youth group leader, sang in the choir, and attended many bible studies. Don and Debbie spent more than 30 winters in Arizona and blessed each community they lived in, including Peoria, AZ, Carrington and Bismarck, ND.
Don is survived by his wife, Debbie of Bismarck; his sister, Lois (Edwin) Horning of Bismarck; his children, Judy (August) Pepple of Bismarck, Diane (Paul) Schenkenberg of Vergas, MN, Nancy (Bruce) March of Sauk Rapids, MN, Craig (Alletta) of New England, ND, Steve (Cindy) of Warroad, MN, Phyllis (Dan) Kuno of Sioux Falls, SD, Sue Green (Charles Garrison) of Denver, CO, Jo Wright (George Chaney) of Anchorage, AK, Sharon (Rodney) VanBruggen of Fargo, ND; twenty-five grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren, whom he loved very much and prayed for daily. We are looking forward to the time we will all be together in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Edna Seibold; his first wife, Alice Seibold; and a great-grandson, Braylon Burgen.
