Leslie “Les” Cabler, age 73, of Carrington, ND, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Leslie Arthur Cabler was born on May 14, 1938 in East Orange, NJ. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served in SE Asia in multiple combat tours. Les served 25 years, retiring from service in Minot, ND, in 1979 with the rank of Senior Master Sargent.
On November 12, 1958, Les was united in marriage to Katherine Cunningham at Winooski, VT. They lived in several places during their marriage including Minot and Devils Lake, ND. In 1997, they moved to Carrington where Les retired from Snap-on Tools after 20 years, where he was in industrial sales, covering all of ND and surrounding states.
He enjoyed flying, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending time in the yard. Les loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #25, and Ducks Unlimited, all in Carrington.
Les will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Kathy of Carrington; three sons, John Cabler and Les (Joyce) Cabler, both of Carrington, and James (Patty) Cabler of Lonsdale, MN; nine grandchildren, John Jr., Tammy, Chantelle, Tina, Josh (Kristin), Levi (Mindy), Roger (Jamie), Marie (Vince), and Michael; and twelve great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Mannie, Armond, Kanin, Korbyn, Cady, Jaydin, Jordis, Samantha, Nick, Gia, and Nevin.
