Kenneth Klein

Kenneth J. Klein, age 81, of Carrington, ND, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, ND.

Kenneth James Klein was born September 16, 1927, the son of Andrew and Sophie (Wagner) Klein, near Cathay, ND. He attended rural school near Cathay. In 1936, his family moved to Wyard Twp. Foster County, rural Carrington. He attended grade school and high school in Carrington.

On November 7, 1948, he married Ruth Jesser at the Calvary Baptist Church in Carrington. They farmed in Wyard Twp., rural Carrington. To this union were born three sons; Kevin, Douglas, and Robert. Ken retired in 1998 after farming for 52 years. Ruth died September 29, 1997.

Kenneth married Genevieve Hambrick on September 5, 1998, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND.
They have made their home in Carrington since their wedding.

Kenneth was on the Farmers Union Board for 18 years and served as Chairman for many years. He also served on the Foster County Credit Union Board, Wyard Twp. Board, Wyard School Board as clerk, Lions Club Board. He was a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent, and Treasurer for Calvary Baptist Church of Carrington.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve, Carrington, ND; three sons, Kevin (Renee) Klein, and Robert (Guynell) Klein, both of Carrington, ND, Douglas (Becky) Klein, Mapleton, ND; three grandsons, Kelly (Lisa), Zachariah, Kaleb; one step son, James (Naomi) Hambrick, Fargo, ND; one sister; Gladys Zink, Port Angeles, WA; and a cousin that was raised as a sister, Donna (Dwayne) Weber, Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife; Ruth, three grandsons; Aaron Klein, Kirk Klein and Cody Klein.
