Mildred Hoffman, age 87, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, ND.
Mildred Maurine Caviness was born on April 4, 1922 in Warren County, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Lou Ella Caviness. She was raised and attended school at Oak Park Seventh-Day Academy in Nevada, Iowa. and attended Union College in Lincoln, NE.
On June 12, 1960, Mildred wed Louis M. Hoffman in Nevada, Iowa. They farmed in the Hawknest area, south of Carrington, ND.
She was a member of the Carrington Seventh-Day Adventist Church and enjoyed gardening.
Mildred is survived by one son, Tim (Davina) Hoffman, Grand Forks, ND; two grandchildren, Alison and Chris; one sister, Moneta (Edward) Wines, Ooltewah, TN; two brothers, Curtis in CA, and Wilton in IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Louis.
