Donna Mae (Neumiller) Hafner, age 58, of Wishek, ND, died January 5, 2010, in Wishek Hospital.
She was born December 3, 1951 in Harvey, North Dakota to John and Ella Mae Neumiller. She was the youngest of three children. She spent her formative years on the family farm outside of Heaton, North Dakota, and she attended Fessenden School. After high school she attended secretarial school in Fargo. On December 31, 1970, she married Albert Hafner and moved to Tennessee. They had 2 children, Renelle and Scott. In May 1978, they divorced and she and her children moved back to North Dakota where she would live out the rest of her years. Donna resided in several communities throughout the state: Carrington, Grand Forks, Cooperstown, Linton, Ashley, and Wishek.
Donna wore many hats throughout her life. She was secretary, student, laboratory technician, paramedic, dietary staff, medical secretary; bartender, computer technician, and customer service representative, bur first and foremost was a mother and grandmother. She was always educating herself and pushing to better herself. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wishek, ND, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed reading, her pets, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Ella Mae Neumiller of Carrington, ND; the love of her life Robert Buchholz of Wishek, ND; her older brother Dallas (Linda) Neumiller of Grand Forks, ND; her older sister Verna (Ed) Linderman of Overland Park, KS; her daughter Renelle (Shawn) Walker of Creston, BC, Canada; her son, Scott (Cheryl) Hafner of Napoleon, ND; 5 Grandchildren: Christina, Shayne, Meredith, Vincent, and Catherine Walker; 4 Step-Grandchildren: Stacy (Marc) Lear, Breeonna, Aprildaun, and Anthony Richter, and 3 Step-great grandchildren; all of whom were her absolute joy.
Donna Mae was preceded in death by her father, John Neumiller.
The family suggests memorials to the Wishek Library.
