Lucille Speldrich, age 82, of Sykeston, ND, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Lucille Anton was born on April 12, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Klinger) Anton at Van Hook, ND. She was raised and attended school at Van Hook. On February 11, 1947, Lucille married Lyle Speldrich at Van Hook. They moved to Sykeston in 1948, where they farmed until 1979. Lyle died on May 15, 1979. Lucille worked at the Sykeston School as a cook and a bus driver for many years. She also worked at Donna’s Diner and Golden Acres, both in Carrington, ND.

She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Lucille enjoyed the farm, the livestock (chickens and geese) and her cat. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Church and St. Joseph’s Society.

Lucille is survived by one son, Steve (Connie) Speldrich, Sykeston, ND; three daughters, Armella (Lawrence) Hetle, Sykeston, ND, Ardell (Darnell) Fetch, Elgin, ND, Celine (Scott) Fetch, Sykeston, ND; one sister, Meg Giesen, Makoti, ND; one brother, Wilfrud Anton, West Fargo, ND; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her parents; sixteen brothers and sisters; and one infant grandson.
