Mylidia Allmaras

Mylidia C. Allmaras, age 88, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at Evergreens Assisted Living Center, Moorhead, MN.

Mylidia Pepple was born February 6, 1924, the daughter of Christ and Sophia (Kandt) Pepple in Cathay, ND.  She attended Minot State Teachers College and taught in Jamestown, Dunseith, and a one room school in Bremen, ND.

While teaching in the Bremen area, she met her future husband, Bernard.  They farmed for many years near Bremen.  Mylidia was active in the community.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Gerard’s Circle, and Wells County Homemakers.  She assisted with fostering her children’s growth by motivating them to complete 4-H projects (especially the sewing projects).  She was a Master Gardener, canned and froze many of the family foods.  She loved flowers and her garden was her pride and joy.

After moving to New Rockford, Mylidia was active in the Eddy County Museum, Red Hats and the Senior Citizen’s Center.

Bernard and Mylidia traveled extensively, and made many friends wherever they went.  Bernard died on October 30, 1995 and Mylidia entered Evergreen Assisted Living Center in May of 2010.

She is survived by four charming daughters, Charlotte (Tom) Magin, Fargo, ND, Connie Allmaras, Savannah, GA, Amy Allmaras, Reno, NV, Sarah Allmaras, Savannah, GA, all who loved her very much, and a son-in-law, Tom, who was her favorite lunch companion.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Mylidia was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, and her son, Steven.

She will be greatly missed on all of our yard sale adventures.
