Maxine "Max" Allmaras

Maxine Irene “Max� Allmaras, age 94, of New Rockford, ND, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd.

Max was born on November 29, 1918, at Broadview, MT, the first child born to Charles and Irene (Barrett) Allmaras. As an infant she moved with her family to a farm west of New Rockford, ND. Max attended country school in Munster, graduating from St. James Academy in New Rockford in 1936.

Enjoying their love for music and dance, Max met Lloyd Allmaras at a barn dance in Cathay, ND. They were united in marriage on September 25, 1937, in New Rockford. Of this union, 5 children were born, Arlene, Kenny, Marilyn, Doug and Patty.

Max and Lloyd spent many years living in road construction camps while he worked for Archie Campbell Road Construction Company. During her lifetime, Max worked in many retail businesses in New Rockford.

Her love of playing cards, baking, and dancing are a legacy that she has left her family and friends. Her love of life and laughter will always be remembered, making many life-long friends.

Max is survived by two sons, Kenny (Gail) Allmaras, Renton, WA, Doug (Jeanne) Allmaras, New Rockford; two daughters, Marilyn (Bob) Naslund, Sacramento, CA, Patty (Emil “Jeep�) Waliser, Zap, ND; one sister, Lois Allrick, Shelby, MT; two sisters-in-law, Irene Allmaras, Sun City, AZ and Shirley Allmaras, Thermopolis, WY; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.

Max was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, one daughter, Arlene Curley; her parents Charlie (killed in the line of duty as Eddy County Sheriff) and Irene; brothers, Leo, Richard “Sonny�, Tom, Joseph “Babe�, and James “Jimmy�; and a sister, Lucille.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: St. John's Catholic Church, New Rockford, ND
