Ramona Allmaras
Ramona Allmaras, age 81, of New Rockford, ND, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013, in her home at Heritage House, New Rockford, ND. Ramona Evelyn Coenen was born on March 15, 1932, to Henry and Clara (Erickson) Coenen, at rural Warwick, ND. She attended grade school at Lake Washington Consolidated and high school in New Rockford. She was united in marriage to Gerard “Ardie� Allmaras on November 26, 1951, at New Rockford. They lived in New Rockford where their six children were born. In 1968, they moved to a ranch northeast of New Rockford where they ranched and raised their family. She was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Tiffany Township Homemakers, Red Hats Society, and was a Hospice volunteer. Ramona is survived by her husband Gerard “Ardie�, New Rockford; 3 sons, Daniel, Golden Valley, MN, Russell “Dewey�, and David (Melony) both of New Rockford; 2 daughters, Shelly (husband Brian Schubloom) Allmaras, Minneapolis, MN, Geri Anne (Lon Willer) Allmaras-Willer, Sidney, MT; 5 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Gene (Dixie) Coenen, Rogers, AR, Jack (Ruth) Coenen, Tolna, ND, Russell (Inez) Coenen, Red Lake Falls, MN; 3 sisters, Marjorie (Jay) Rice, Maddock, ND, Darlene (Jim) Palmer, New Rockford, and Carol (Larry) Pewe, Edinburg, ND. She was preceded in death by her son Dennis, her parents Henry and Clara, an infant brother Ronald and an infant sister Connie. Her family suggests memorials to the NR Swimming Pool Project, c/o New Rockford Park Board, or a fund of your choice. Message: I am so sorry at the loss of friend Ramona. Just thought about her and I going to shop in Devils Lake. along the road was these pretty red leaf bushes. We just had to stop and pick some. Well wasn't the prettiest bouquet as ended up with poison oak. She had touched more than I did so her itch was worse but we still remained good friends through it all. I send my sympathy to the family, and will get a card off soon.
