Message: Darold was a great guy with only one flaw!  He made me eat lutefisk! In 1969 he took me flying, he told me great jokes, and his booming laugh and generous nature provided me with a wonderful role model.  He raised his family in similar manner and as a devoted husband and father there was no shortage of love.  The last time I saw him was 1970 but those strong memories have lasted through these many years.  Thank you, Darold!  You made everyone special!  I just wish I was half as good at it as you were!

Message: I was saddened to here of Darold's passing on Sunday's broadcast from the Luthern Church in Fargo. (It was for the flowers) I was lucky enough to attend a Good Sam meeting where Darold and Evelyn with help from others put on a skit: Darold was at the Doctors office for a check up. I laughed then and every time I past near Sutton would think of them and that skit. Darold and I connected because of his flying and my past plane ownership. He will be missed. My thoughts are of Evelyn and his family.

Message: I remember watching Darold showing at the WS. Cattle looked a little smaller then. His always looked great. For some reason, maybe 4-H judging, we were at the beautiful Bordulac Stock Farm. I thought it was the epitome of what a seed stock operation should look like--perfectly groomed yard, white fence, red buildings. Darold was always so friendly and congenial. May he rest in peace. He brought back find memories of fine, genteel days.
