Richard Bartlett

Richard “Dick” Bartlett, 82, of McHenry, ND, passed away Monday January 19, 2015, peacefully at his home.

Richard Bartlett was born October 18, 1932, the son of Allen and Lucy “Babe” (Allen) Bartlett near McHenry, ND. Dick married Erva Maurer on October 5, 1956, in Hamar, ND.

Over the years Dick did many different things, he farmed, he dug wells, he worked for Mayo Road Construction, and he worked for Dean Sommerville as a mechanic, He was Janitor at the McHenry School and then moved to the Warwick school as Janitor. He also did septic cleaning for many years.  Dick had a passion for family, and he enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, hunting, and he loved going on cruises.

Dick is survived by his wife Erva of McHenry; three daughters: Pamela (Alan) Hohenshelt of Brookfield, CT, Penny (Clyde) Reister of Streeter, ND, Candice (Leon) Grosz of Hazen, ND; his son Ricky (Julie) Bartlett of Mankato, MN; nine Grandchildren: Steven (Melissa) Hohenshelt of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Stewart Hohenshelt of New Milford, CT, Lance (Jami) Reister of Streeter, ND, Wade (Wendy) Reister of Cleveland, ND, Matthew Reister of Bismarck, ND, Kelsey Bartlett of Mankato, Kayla (Nathan) Sweeney of Mankato, Jordan Grosz of Hazen, Christopher Grosz, Hazen;  four  Great-Grandchildren: Logan and Brooke Reister of Streeter, and Alicia and Paige Hohenshelt of Puerto Rico; four sisters: Margaret (Maggie) Hoyt of Clearwater, MN, Goldie (Robert) Olson of Fargo, ND, Dorothy Burrows (Florin Soennichsen) of Roundup, MT, and Evanell “Evie”(Marvin) Miska of Glenfield, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Robert “Bobby”, William “Bill”, and baby brother Bartlett, also one sister Daisy; and three brothers-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Hurt, Chester “Bud” Hoyt, and James “Jim” Burrows; and  a sister-in-law JoAnn Bartlett.
