Lisa Beckley, 53, of rural Carrington, ND, died Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND.

Lisa Kay Johns was born on March 27, 1964, in Fort Walton Beach, FL, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Thompson) Johns. Her father was in the Air Force, and the family moved around a lot while she was growing up. She attended school in several places, mostly in Grand Forks, ND, and Fargo, ND. Later she attended cosmetology school in Bismarck, ND

Lisa had three sons from a previous marriage.   On October 5, 1995, Lisa was united in marriage to Dan Beckley in Jamestown, ND. They lived at Bordulac, ND. She cooked for several years at the Kensal School. In 2005, they opened and operated the Bordulac Bar & Grill.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and special friends Dean and Linda Ova, raising flowers/vegetables and watching the Food Network and HGTV channels. This past summer she fulfilled a dream of hers and along with Megan and Grant traveled to Waco, TX to see Magnolia Market at The Silos, and to Pawhuska, OK, to see the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. She was always looking for a new project idea as she was very crafty. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games together and had a love of music and trivia (she would often call on her dad late at night for help recalling things). She also loved to cook and visit with friends at the Bar & Grill.

She is survived by her husband Dan, Bordulac; sons Mychael (Megan) Swenning, Colorado Springs, CO, Mitchell Swenning, Bismarck, Mackenzie Swenning, Rollette, ND; stepchildren Tyler (Brook) Beckley and Danielle (Aaron Koepplin) Beckley, both of Carrington; Brian Beckley, Fessenden; 6 grandchildren; her father Charles Johns, Bismarck; a brother Brad (Gay) Johns, Mandan, ND; a sister Krista (Andy) Reynolds, Bismarck; her father-in-law Percy Beckley, Carrington; 2 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews on both sides of their family.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother Alice Johns, mother-in-law Lois Beckley, and both sets of grandparents.                                                                                            

VISITATION & PRAYER SERVICE:

Visitation Wednesday (Dec 20th) 6PM -7PM, followed by her Prayer Service at 7PM, all in Evans Funeral Home, Carrington
