Janel Spottedbird Bocanegra
Janel Lee Spottedbird Bocanegra, age 35, of Ft. Totten, ND, died Monday, June 26, 2017, in Ft. Totten Janel Lee Spottedbird was born March 20, 1982, in Devils Lake, ND, to the late Kenneth Spottedbird Sr. and Joyce Peltier. She was raised in Ft. Totten and educated in Four Winds School, Fort Totten, and at Brockton, Montana. She was employed at Spirit Lake Casino and Dakota Tribal Industries, Ft Totten, and also K-Mart in Denver, Colorado. Janel has a very special bond with her children, and she loved being around her two sisters, three brothers, mother and friends. She loved to go for walks and loved her Facebook. She also loved to cook and visit everyone. She enjoyed spending time with all her nieces and nephews. Janel was a very loving and caring person. She also enjoyed spending time with her new sister-in-law, Cheryl Spottedbird. Janel is survived by her mother Joyce Peltier; three sons Michael Greywater III, Casey Greywater, Ernie Bocanegra III; three daughters Pauline Greywater, Katelyn Greywater, Janessa Greywater; two sisters Tara Spottedbird, Kenda Spottedbird; sister-in-law Cheryl Spottedbird; three brothers Vernon Spottedbird, Kenneth Spottedbird, Kevin Spottedbird; two grandfathers Josie Lawrence and Family, Solomon Sherman and Family; two aunts Tammy Allery, Delphine Longie; her godmother, Debra Little, and godfather Frank Tomahawk, Jr. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Spottedbird Sr.; stepfather Fredrick Peltier, great-grandparents, John & Louisa Sherman; grandparents Sterling Red Eagle, Viola Spottedbird, Frank Tomahawk Sr., Josephine Tomahawk; two uncles Alan Tomahawk, William Tomahawk Sr.; four aunts Lorraine Tomahawk, Charlotte Tomahawk, Janice Tomahawk, Cheryl Tomahawk, brother Franklin Spottedbird, three nieces Kiara Green, Julia Diaz, and Sharese Feather. Her Wake begins Friday, July 7th at 4PM, with a Rosary Service at 8PM, all in the Ft. Totten Wellness Center Friends wishing to join the procession from New Rockford to Ft. Totten may gather on the St. Jerome’s road, prior to 3:45PM on Friday Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 10AM in Ft. Totten Wellness Center Burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Ft.
