Kenneth Brady

Kenneth “Ken” Brady, age 82, of Carrington, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.

Kenneth James Brady was born March 26, 1933, in Carrington,  the son of Harold and Helen (Hoyt) Brady.  He attended elementary school at St. Mary’s in Fargo, and high school at St James Academy in New Rockford. Ken then went on to complete his GED while stationed in Guam, after enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1952.  He served in the Korean War until his Honorable Discharge in 1956

On June 4, 1962, Ken and Vivian Ann Mosolf were united in marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake.   They made a life together with their three children in various North Dakota communities.  Vivian lost her battle with cancer in 1998.

Ken provided for his family by working in the retail grocery business around the state for thirty years, in addition to managing and tending bar for twenty years at the Knights of Columbus and Buffalo Bar & Lounge, both in Jamestown.  When taking time to relax, Ken enjoyed golfing and bowling.  He was a member of the V.F.W., and Knights of Columbus, of which he was a 4th Degree Knight.

Kenneth is survived by his three children, Mike (Rhonda) Brady, Fargo,  Lisa (Doug) Anselmin, Frazee, MN, and Mary (Mark) Struxness, Carrington; three granddaughters, Molly, Brenna & Markie; his siblings Greg (Marge) Brady, Bismarck, and Annette (Dennis) Johnson, Hinsdale, MT; sisters-in-law Betty Brady, Bismarck, Mary Brady, Fargo; brother-in-law Art Buchl, Cando; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian; parents, Harold and Helen Brady; his siblings, John, Wally, Veronica, Lawrence, Dennis, Patty and her husband Owen.
