LeRoy Butts

 

LeRoy Butts, age 96, of Carrington, ND, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.

 

John LeRoy Butts was born on January 17, 1919, in Sykeston, ND, the son of R.C. and Nellie (Pebernat) Butts. He farmed with his brothers and father until marrying.

 

In 1937, he was united in marriage to Lucille Brady in Fargo, ND. They bought a farm in Wyard Township of Foster County in 1944, and lived there until 2010, when they moved into Carrington.

 

He was a member of the Federated Church, Flying Farmers of America, Wyard Township Board, Foster County Weed Board, Newman Club and The Masons.

 

LeRoy is survived by his daughter Patti Skadberg, Carrington; daughter-in-law Judy Butts, Casa Grande, AZ; 5 grandchildren Kal (Debbie) Skadberg, Fargo, Vicky Trottier, Grand Forks, ND, Stacey (John) Rzaszutak, Carrington, Nicole Butts and Daniel Butts of Casa Grande; 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother-in-law Chester Brady, Scottsdale, AZ; 2 sisters-in-law Donna Tronnes, Kennewick WA, and Pat Drinkhard, Hibbing, MN.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 76 yrs, Lucille; one son Sam; his 2 brothers Earl and Lloyd; 3 sisters Sylvia Buckmiller, Genevieve Morlock, Ellen Aljets; 2 grandchildren Lisa Butts and Mike Butts; and son-in-law James Skadberg.

 

LeRoy’s family suggests memorials to Federated Church and Carrington Cemetery.
