Sven David Carlson, Jr.

Sven David Carlson, Jr., age 3, of rural Sheyenne, ND, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at his home in rural Sheyenne, following a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer in July.

Sven Jr., was born at home in Twin Tree Township near Sheyenne, on November 24, 2010, to Sven and Andrea (Ziegler) Carlson. He was later baptized at his home.

He enjoyed spending time with his parents and other relatives. A ride in the combine or baler with Grandpa was always fun. Helping Great-Aunt Linnea chase cows on the doodlebug was also fun especially when he got to “drive. Sven enjoyed life. He got up each day excited and ready to go do something. He loved being part of everything on the farm. Sven was confident and willing to try to help do just about anything. Even after he got sick, whenever he felt well enough to be up, he still wanted and was able to go out and do things with the people he loved most.

Now he is living life to the fullest with Jesus. We are sure, knowing him, he’s loving every minute of it.

Sven is survived by his parents; one sister, Jennie, at home; paternal grandparents, Wilgoth and Gail Carlson, Sheyenne, ND, maternal grandparents, Rick and Sharon Ziegler, Mooreton, ND; three great-grandmas, Gail Landgren, Wilton, ND, Darlene Kertscher, Battle Lake, MN, Carol Ziegler, Mitchell, SD; numerous aunts and uncles and great aunts and great uncles.

He was preceded in death by four great-grandpas and one great-grandma.

Message: My sympathies in the loss of your beautiful little boy. I'll never forget him holding Sea by the nostrils while he had that heart to horse conversation with her. He truly was a charming boy and though your hearts I am certain are in so much pain, know that he is safe now, pain free, running and playing in heaven, and please stay strong for each other as a family, unite and handle this saddness together.

Much love and sympathies for you all

Michelle Hoyt and Randy Jess

When God calls our children
by Unknown Author

When God calls our children
to dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometimes question
the wisdon of His love.
For no heartache compares with,
the death of one small child.
Who does so much to make our world,
seem so wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to His fold.
So He picks a rosebud
before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
and so He takes but few.
To make the land of heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try.
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be Good-bye.
So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind,
Must realize God loves children.

Message: God's blessings to yours in this time of sorrow. We have been praying for Sven for the last several months every Sunday morning at our congregation. We were saddened to hear the news this past week.

Sven now rests with Christ.

"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." John 11

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Â? And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." Revelation 21:1-5 ESV
