Bertie "Bobbi" Carr

Bertie “Bobbi� Carr, age 84, of Carrington, ND, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington.


Bertie Nell Mayberry was born on March 5, 1929, the daughter of Luther and Lucy Lou Lalia (Weshum) Mayberry in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1941, the family moved to Los Angeles, California. Bobbi attended nursing school and also was a licensed x-ray technician.


Bobbi married Jeff Eason and they later divorced. In 1960, Bobbi was united in marriage to Patrick Carr in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Norwalk, CA and in 1964 moved to La Mirada, CA. Bobbi and Pat loved their North Dakota family and enjoyed family vacations to Carrington. In 1989, they made Carrington their home. They loved being near the Carr family. They operated the Hardware Hank store for a time. Pat died on October 26, 2006.


She loved cats, playing cards, cooking, gardening, reading food magazines and Christian romance novels, and also enjoyed listening to old time Hymns. Bobbi loved Pat and her family.


Bobbi is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Bob) Shryne, La Habra Heights, CA, and Rebecca (David) Biddle, Laguna Niguel, CA; four grandchildren, Anna Pierce, Jeremy Biddle, Brandi Smrekar, and Patrick Biddle; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Connie) Carr and Mike (Darlene) Carr, and one sister-in-law, Marie Gussiaas, all of Carrington; and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Pat; one brother Issacc Arian; and two sisters, Mary Modean Sitek and Lurdean Evans.

Message: I have many happy memories of my Aunt Bobbi (& Uncle Pat), especially at their home in La Mirada. I remember overnighters and swimming in the pool, and having fun with my cousins Debbie and Becky. Was surprised to hear she was gone. My sympathies to the family.
