Elaine Caylor

 

Elaine M. Caylor, age 83, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, in Carrington Health Center, Carrington.

Elaine Marie Fornshell was born May 22, 1932, in Carrington, the daughter of Charles and Flora (Steele) Fornshell. She grew up in Carrington attending school there and graduation from Carrington High School in 1951.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Caylor on October 20, 1953, in Federated Church, Carrington. They made their life in Carrington. Elaine worked as an insurance company Office Manager for many years before retiring. Raymond died November 17, 1970.

Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family, and hosting Christmas Eve suppers. She had fond memories of spending time with her family at all holiday seasons, and joining in on the belief of Santa.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching them grow and have families of their own. She was strong in tradition; she wanted to make sure everyone learned the value of traditions and what they meant.

She like spending time in her garden with her flowers, reading history books, knitting, and bird watching.

Elaine was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, past President of Carrington Cemetery Association and was a member of the Federated Church.

Elaine is survived by her children: Andrew (Terri) Caylor, Washburn, Barbara (Randy) Leadbetter, and Donald Caylor both of Carrington; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond; daughter-in-law Lynette Caylor; two sisters: Iona (Ben) Straley, Amedia (Frank) Bowden; two brothers: Curtis (Ethel) Fornshell and Coyle Fornshell.
