Lorraine "Tootsie" Charboneau

Lorraine “Tootsie” Charboneau, age 70, of rural St. Michael, ND, passed into Eternal Life on Friday June 13, 2014, at her home.

Lorraine “Tootsie” Charboneau is the daughter of the late Roy & Clemence Herman.  Lorraine was born in a log cabin home December 25, 1943, Fort Totten, ND.  She married the love of her life, Anthony Charboneau Jr. in Devils Lake, ND, August 15, 1962, and together they raised 10 beautiful children.


Lorraine worked at Sioux Manufacturing & DTI in her early years. She loved & enjoyed watching her shows in the afternoon (The Young & the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful, and The Price is Right).  She also liked beading, making dream catchers, crocheting, gardening & spending time with the family & grandkids.

Lorraine “Tootsie” Charboneau is survived by her husband, Anthony Charboneau Jr. of St. Michael; Karen (Tony) Charboneau of Oberon, ND, Wanda (Joel) Lenoir of Grand Forks, ND, Sharon (Mike) Larson of Devils Lake, Antoinette Charboneau of St. Michael, Melissa (Jocko) Frank of Belcourt, ND, Anthony (Tara) Charboneau III of Oberon, Clemence (Reuben) Charboneau,  Brandon (Donalda) Charboneau, Dallas (Megan) Charboneau, Daniel (Chanelle) Charboneau, all of Fort Totten; brothers Roger (Shirley) Herman of Fort Totten, Joe (Gertrude) Herman, Butch Herman, Tommy (Jessica) Herman, Steve (Sandy) Herman, Roy Herman Jr., all of Belcourt; sisters Louella (Kevin) Herman of Dunseith, ND; Phyllis (Phillip) McKay of Warwick, ND, Velma (Earl) Houle, Delila (Dean) Martin, Berta Morin, Debbie (Duane) Longie, all of Belcourt; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Tootsie was preceded in death by her parents Roy & Clemence Herman, daughter Alberta Charboneau, sisters Hattie Peltier & Violet Fournier, brothers Harry Charboneau, Alfred Herman & Cletus Herman, granddaughters Larissa Lenoir & Heaven Charboneau, and grandsons Noah Littlewind & Dustin Dauphinais.

We would also like to thank the Hospice Nurses, Farrah Trottier, Amy Fandrich and Ashley Swanson, for taking care of our Precious Mother. We thank you for being part of Tootsie's life & forgive us if we did not mention you by name. It was not done intentional. We are doing our best in this incredibly sad & difficult time.
