Charles "Charlie" Carr

Charles “Charlie Carr, age 41, of Bordulac, ND, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, near Kensal, ND.

Charles Philip Carr was born in Carrington, ND, on November 26, 1969. He was the eighth child of the late J. Maurice and Virginia (Wolf) Carr. He grew up in Bordulac, ND, and graduated from Carrington high school in 1989. He began farming for Steve Reimers and worked there until 2006. He married Kara Rohrenbach on February 3, 1996. They later divorced. At the present time, he was working at Kensal Farmers Elevator. He was the proud owner of Chucky’s Woolly Ranch. His greatest joy came from farming and ranching. He was known for his mechanical skills through out the area. If you needed help, call Charlie, he could fix it.

He was a NASCAR enthusiast, and a true Dale Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed stock car racing, trucking and ATVing. He loved fishing and hunting with all his buddies. His woodworking skills are present in many of his sibling’s homes. He played on area pool and dart leagues. Everyone will remember his skills in the kitchen- beef jerky, pumpkin bread, onion pie and his ability to carve turkey and ham.

He will be greatly missed by his family. Charlie always livened up the party. His 13 nieces and nephews will especially miss him during the holidays. They always counted on Uncle Charlie to put them on the ceiling and dream up some new kind of trouble to make them scream and laugh.

Charlie will be remembered and deeply missed by his mother, Virginia (Art) Freeman; sisters, Rett (Gary) Bata and Linda (Brian) Duursma, both of Carrington, ND, Jean Womble, Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, Clinton Carr, Carrington, ND, Robert Carr, Bordulac, ND, Doug Carr, Woodville, TX, and Keith (Alice) Carr, Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews, Marcie Bata, Hilary Bata, Chelsea Womble, Debbie Carr, Andrea Carr, Jesse Carr, Cashton Carr, Ryan Carr, Brittni Carr, Mandi Freeman, David Freeman, Jenna Carr, and Claire Carr; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was greeted in heaven by his father, J. Maurice; and two brothers, Andrew and Jonathan.

Message: To Charlie's family My heart aches for you. The loss of your treasured son, brother, uncle is devastating news. My thoughts and prayers and sincerest sympathy is sent to all of you. I had the privilege of having Charlie as my son-in-law during his marriage to my daughter Kara. He gave generously of his affection, playfulness, humor and talents during our get togethers. He also generously used his personal leave time from his job during fun-filled vacations at the farm with myself and my grandchildren, his niece and nephew. These memories are precious and cherished deeply. May your many memories of Charlie be shared among you and give you peace today and in the future. God be with you during this most difficult time.

Message: To Charlie's entire family:

We were so saddened and affected by the news. No one can begin to understand why loved ones are taken from us too soon. Our thoughts, prayers, and sincere condolances are with you all. I know everyone would agree Charlie's unique personality and view on life will be very much missed. He occupied a special place in our hearts, and especially in my father's (Steve Reimers) for whom he dedicated many years of his life working on the Reimers farm. Charlie was a blessing to me personally and kept us all in good spirits after Steve passed away. We will never forget him. God bless and care for you all in your time of sorrow.
