Mabel C. Cunningham

Mabel C. Cunningham, age 75, of McHenry, ND, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Mabel Christine Manz was born on April 7, 1937, the daughter of Paul and Margaret (Henssler) Manz at McHenry, ND. She was raised and attended school at McHenry.

On June 5, 1956, Mabel was united in marriage to Duane “Bud� Cunningham in McHenry. They lived and raised their family there. Mabel enjoyed gardening, canning and freezing her produce, baking, and sewing. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Mabel was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Grace City.

Now she is face to face with her Lord and Savior. She will be missed by so many people who were blessed by her love. Mabel’s joy in life was serving people and reaching out to anyone who needed encouragement. Her generous hugs were heartwarming and genuine.

Mabel will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Duane; four children, Gary Cunningham, Grace City, Bonnie (Mark) Ekeland, Newton, KS, John (Rachel) Cunningham, Grace City, and David (Becky) Cunningham, McHenry; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her mother, Margaret Johnston, Carrington; three brothers, Roger (Franny) Manz, McHenry, Bobby (Renee) Manz, Bloomer, WI, David (Phyllis) Manz, Glenfield, ND; one sister, Carolyn (Glenn) Bjornson, Grace City, ND; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was greeted in heaven by her father, Paul Manz; step father, Paul Johnston; one grandson, Jeffrey Ekeland; and one nephew, David Manz, Jr.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Evangelical Free Church, Grace City, ND

Message: Duane and family, I just read in the carrington paper of your loss and we are so sorry we did not know sooner. My wife has been pretty ill this summer and she was also in Fargo in the hospital and I was back and forth and missed it somehow. We stayed with Mabel and Bud and had a blessed time and enjoyed the great hospitality. Over the years, I have often thought of your family. May God give you strength and encouragement at this time.
