Jennie "Dolly" Kaul

Jennie “Dolly” Kaul, age 77, of New Rockford, ND, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Jennie Bernice Dockter was born April 15, 1933, at Regan, ND, the daughter of Gottlieb and Josephine (Davis) Dockter.  Dolly, as she was affectionately known, grew up and attended school at Regan and Tuttle, ND.  She also lived at Lodi, CA, and Sandpoint, Idaho before moving to New Rockford, ND.

On September 1, 1951, when she was 19, Dolly was united in marriage to Harry A. Kaul at New Rockford.  Dolly enjoyed 52 years of her career as a waitress, retiring at the age of 68 from Gayle’s Bison County Inn at New Rockford.

 

Dolly was a member of United Methodist Church, New Rockford; the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by Harry, her husband of 59 years; two sons: Gene and Leonard (Deb), both of New Rockford; three daughters: Ruby Simms of Melvern, Iowa, Patty (James) Dennis of New Rockford, and Joan (Robert) Marquez of Bismarck, ND; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Eileen) Dockter and Harold (Susan) Dockter, both of New Rockford; seven sisters: Deloris (Eulis) Rogers and Erma (Carlton) Christianson, both of New Rockford, Agnes Nokleby (Willis Sucket) of Carrington, ND, Shirley Pederson and Janet Banning, both of Williston, ND, Marjorie Bohnet of Fargo, ND, and Helen (Vern) Duda, Carrington, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and brother Vernon Dockter; and two sisters, Doris Wade and Ruby Eisla.

Visitors, friends and family were always greeted at her house with open arms and you never left her house with an empty stomach.
