Ken and Bonnie along with their family returned to Carrington in October of 1975. He continued working in Carrington until his retirement.

Ken was an avid sports fan, a coach to his children and a mentor to all of his players. He enjoyed spending time with his family whether they were out bird hunting or shooting hoops in the driveway they were the highlight of his life. Ken liked to play cribbage and pinochle, along with an occasional trip to the casino in Devils Lake with his friends.  After 53 years of marriage Bonnie passed away in 2003. Ken remained in Carrington; where home is.

He is survived by four sons, Allan and Tom, both of Cerritos, CA, Tim (Amy) and Dave (Tami), all of Reno, NV; two daughters, Debbie (Steve) Bell of Wrightwood, CA, and Jean Kline, of Wrightwood, CA; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; a brother Bill and one sister Mary.
