Gene R. Kurtz
Gene Kurtz, age 69, of Carrington, ND, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND.
Gene Robert Kurtz was born on July 21, 1940, the son of Edward and Frances (Kubicek) Kurtz in rural Eddy County, ND. He was raised and attended school in Brantford and New Rockford, ND. Gene worked at Cal’s Office Supply in Jamestown, ND for a time before moving to Bismarck, ND, where he owned Dependable Business Machines from 1973 to 2004. In 2006, he retired and moved to Carrington. He resided at Golden Acres Manor. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing, fixing things, MN Twins, MN Vikings, dogs, and practical jokes. Gene is survived by one brother, Dean (Sharon) Kurtz, Custer, SD; nieces, Connie Jo Dunn, Laura Duda, Tammy Footh, Caitlin Kurtz; nephews, Rod Odstrcil, John Odstrcil, Ed Kurtz and Dusty Kurtz. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, Wayne, one brother, Duane; and one sister, Janice Odstrcil.
