Frank Hilbert

Frank Hilbert, age 98, of New Rockford, ND, died Friday, October 3, 2014, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford.

 

Frank Joseph Hilbert was born November 25, 1915, at New Rockford, the son of Joseph and Annie (Jannisch) Hilbert.  He grew up on the family farm west of New Rockford in Fairville Township, Wells County.

 

He was united in marriage to Vera Mae Tonn on October 6, 1942, in New Rockford.  They lived on the family farm until 1977, when they moved into New Rockford. In addition to farming, Frank also worked with his son David doing custom harvesting.     Frank and Vera lived in Phoenix, AZ, for the winters of 1985 through 1995.  Vera died June 11, 2014.

 

Frank served on the New Rockford Public School Board, and was Past President of the New Rockford Eagles.  He had also served as Fairville Township Supervisor.  Frank was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bremen, and later of St. John’s Catholic Church, New Rockford.

 

He is survived by 1 daughter, Diane Farris of St. John, KS; 3 sons, Michael (Viki) of Bismarck, ND, David (Patty) and Gary (Bonnie), both of New Rockford; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

 

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters Charlotte & Connie,  his parents, 2 sisters Anne and Gertrude, and one brother Clemence.

 

 

ROSARY & VIGIL SERVICES:

Rosary Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 7PM,

followed by Vigil Service at 7:30PM,

all in St. John's Catholic Church, NR
