David W. Irmen

"Crazy Dave"

David “Crazy Dave” Irmen died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 5, 2017, in rural Bremen, ND, at the age of 61.

David Walter Irmen was born on September 8, 1956, in New Rockford, ND to Walter and Margaret “Peggy” Irmen. Dave graduated from Cathay High School in 1975. He married Pennie Seiler, his high school sweetheart, in December 1979. After moving to New Rockford, Dave bought and ran Northern Lights Auto Body over 7 years. The couple welcomed 4 children into their home. His children remember him as a loving/kind/gentle/driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Dave was accomplished in managing / auto body / electrical / carpentry / as a Truck Driver and often Jack of all Trades. Dave owned and ran the Crazy Dave’s Fireworks in New Rockford for 32 years. He recently started working for Park Construction, his current job was water/moisture drainage control for the railroad. He had set a new daily record of 47 completed, then days later had 60 completions, where the previous record was 32. He always had to prove that his age was no limit to the task at hand. He was a generous/witty/dedicated/life of the party individual who was passionate about family/friends/work. He was a member of the New Rockford Eagles Club and Golf Course.

Dave is survived by his wife, Pennie "Seiler" Irmen; children, Alisya Thomas, Dellen (April) Irmen, Alexis Irmen; 9 Grandchildren; his mother Margaret “Peggy” Irmen; 5 brothers: Tony (Susan) Irmen, Robert (Cheri) Irmen, Don (Ann) Irmen, Greg (Linda) Irmen, Steve (DeeDee) Irmen, 3 sisters: Kathy (Rusty) Hewitt, Margaret Wittmann, and Karen (Wayne) Seckerson.
