Thomas P. Jager
Thomas Phillip Jager, age 59, of Carrington, ND, died Monday, May 20, 2013, in his home after battling a lengthy illness.
Tom was born on October 9, 1953, in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Sebastian “Sy� and Christine (Sheile) Jager. He attended Catholic school in Devils Lake until his junior year, then moved to Medford, OR, with his brother, Bob and graduated from high school in 1971. He moved to Minnesota and started working as an auto mechanic. It was while working in St. Paul, Tom met his wife, Joanne Davis. They were united in marriage on September 10, 1983. They had 3 children and resided in Mounds View, MN until moving to Carrington in 1993. While in Carrington, Tom was a mechanic and general handyman. He was always willing to help anyone stranded or broke down, waking many nights and weekends often on his own dime. He enjoyed working on classic cars, built and ran several derby cars, was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved camping with his family and friends, loved flying kites with his grandkids, and putting on an amazing firework extravaganza every 4th of July. Tom will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Joanne of Carrington; daughter, Sara of Minot; sons, Andy of Carrington and Jake of Bismarck; three grandchildren, Lillian, Samuel and Izabelle Christine; three brothers Ed (Marsha) Jager, Robert (Judy) Jager, and Steve (Barb) Jager; one sister, Betty Vansteevort; one uncle, Matt Jager and one aunt, Ruby Gette; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
