Rodney Jaeger

Rodney Jaeger, age 58, of Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Carrington, ND, died on September 26, 2014, surrounded by family after a brief illness at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Rod was born on February 23, 1956, to Joe and Ronnie (Veronica Schafer) Jaeger in Devils Lake, ND, where he spent the first six years of his life, before moving to Carrington. He had lived in Carrington until four years ago when he and his mother moved to Fargo.

Rodney attended school in Carrington and graduated in 1977, from New Rockford Special Education.  After graduation Rod worked for the Carrington School as a custodian and retired from the job after 25 years of loving going to work every day.

Rod loved going to summer camp at Elks Camp Grassick for the past 40 years. He also loved fishing with his brothers–in-law and was most proud of his whopper walleye he caught in Devils Lake.

Rod was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where he enjoyed the friendship of his fellow Knights while serving as Inside Guard.

His hobbies included listening to music, watching WWF wrestling and Walker Texas Ranger and keeping records of family birthdays and vehicle license plate numbers.  He was extremely patriotic and proud of the American flag and had one displayed in his home. Rod was the life of the party at family gatherings, reunions and weddings where he would dance the night away.
