Mary Kay Klocke

Mary Kay Klocke, age 77, of Carrington, ND, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.

Mary Kay Rohrer was born in Churches Ferry, ND, to Melvin and Gladys Rohrer (Solberg) on April 19, 1938. Mary Kay and the family moved to Carrington when she was a young girl, she graduated from Carrington High School in 1956.

On November 29, 1957, Mary Kay was united in marriage to Donald Klocke at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Carrington. From their beautiful marriage of 57 years they were blessed with four children, Peggy, Patti, Tamra and DJ.

Mary Kay was an avid reader who enjoyed many books followed by a good nap. Mary Kay showed her talents in the kitchen with her love of baking new recipes and then sharing them with her family. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Kay was known for having strong relationships with each family member, relationships that could be admired by anyone.

She worked over 20 years at the Chieftain, where she got to know everyone in the surrounding area. Mary Kay was a person who could strike up a conversation with anyone, and could make a connection with them, anywhere she went. Don was often waiting for Mary Kay to finish her latest conversation with someone.  Mary Kay and Don spent a lot of time traveling throughout the country side, even though her heart was still at home. She loved her family and the community that she was a part of.

Mary Kay is survived by her husband Don; three daughters, Peggy (Keith) Larson, Carrington, Patti (Danny) Angeles, Valley City, ND, Tamra (Rex) Kriedeman, Enderlin, ND; one son, DJ (Peggy) Klocke, Carrington; seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
