Lloyd G. Ingebretson

Lloyd G. Ingebretson, age 82, of Carrington, ND, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Med Center One, Bismarck, ND.

Lloyd Gordon Ingebretson was born on January 26, 1928, near Barlow, ND, the son of Lars and Gunda (Iverson) Ingebretson. His mother died when he was 1 ½ years old. Lloyd was raised by his uncle and aunt, Tom and Hilda Gedrose. He was baptized and confirmed at Stavanger Lutheran Church near Cathay, ND. Lloyd was raised on the Gedrose farm and attended to school at Rosefield Township in Eddy County, ND.

He was drafted into the Army on December, 1950, served Korea in 1951-52, with the 25th Infantry. Lloyd received the Korean Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

On September 27, 1953, Lloyd was united in marriage to Ellen Pierson at First Lutheran Church in New Rockford, ND. He farmed and worked at Barlow Elevator for 25 years. After his retirement, Lloyd worked for area farmers.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW, American Legion, D.A.V., and Senior Citizens, all of Carrington.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Ellen, Carrington; daughter, Terry (Tim) Krueger, Mandan; son, Todd Ingebretson, Carrington; three grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, and Katie Jo Ingebretson; and a sister, Bernice (Reider) Rosendahl, Spokane, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt and uncle, Hilda and Tom Gedrose; brother, Chester, three sisters, Margit Hagen, Louise Williams, and Elsie Cook.

Interment: ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND at 3:00 PM
