Marlys Bauer, age 71, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, ND.

Marlys Jane Hewitt was born on January 22, 1939, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Mason) Hewitt at Carrington Hospital, Carrington, ND. She was raised and attended school in Carrington, graduating in 1957. During high school, Marlys worked at Rexall Drug Store until 1959.

On April 8, 1958, Marlys was united in marriage to William Bauer in Carrington. They shared their life together in Carrington except for 3 years when they lived in Jamestown, ND. Marlys stayed at home with her children until they started school. In 1976, she started working at Gate City Bank in Carrington and continued until her retirement of 30 years in 2006.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she liked bowling.
Marlys was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Marlys will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Bill; children, Jay (Cindy) Bauer, Carrington, ND, Lynn Bauer, Ft. Meyers, FL, Marty (Angie) Bauer, Carrington; daughter-in-law, Sandy Bauer, Minot, ND; grandchildren, Nicole (Nate) Fisher, Jason Bauer, Ashley Bauer, Taryn Bauer, Torie Bauer, Arie (Maryssa) Bauer, Chaz Bauer, Jarret Bauer, Sabrina Wolfe, Haley Wolfe, Dakota Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Kaiya Fisher and Izak Bauer; and one sister, Dorine (Delbert) Fandrich, Lake Wood, Ca.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Craig, and a brother Allen.
