David Mehring
David Mehring, age 60, of Carrington, ND, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. David John Mehring was born on January 18, 1957, in Jamestown, ND, the son of John Jr. and Carol (Hallwachs) Mehring. He grew up and attended school in Carrington, graduating from Carrington High School in 1975. Later attending NDSU for a year, and then returning to the family home to farm with his dad. David enjoyed farming, raising Suffolk sheep, bowling, deer hunting, and fishing, making sure he cleaned his catch. He loved horses, barrel racing and horse shows. He was in the pleasure class for horse shows and eventually went into judging quarter horse shows. One of his many favorite trips was to Las Vegas, with his Parents, Uncle Bud and Aunt Betty to play Black Jack. He is survived by his mother Carol Mehring, Pingree; sister Karen (Ron) Munkeby, uncles Charles and Glenn (Patricia) Mehring, Charles (Betty) Schock; aunts Lucille Clark, all of Carrington; Ann Geske and Catherine Hertel, both of Pingree; as well as many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, John Mehring Jr.; paternal grandparents John and Helen Mehring, maternal grandparents Charles and Helen Hallwachs; uncles Ted Clark, Leonard Geske, Elmer Hertel, and Marvin (Audrey) Hallwachs; aunt Marie Mehring.
