Dale Nerlien, age 54, of Hamberg, ND, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, in New Rockford, ND. Dale Eugene Nerlien was born on September 2, 1959, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Donald and Carol (Brown) Nerlien. He was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The family moved to Sheyenne, ND, in December 1974, where Dale attended Sheyenne High School. He then began working with road construction companies, with Close Construction Company as his last employer. He had also been employed by Greg Seidel and Roger Pforr in building and repair construction. Dale really enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spent much time fishing with his brother Keith. Dale is survived by his mother Carol Nerlien, Sheyenne; 4 brothers, Keith, Sheyenne, Duane (Deb), East Bethel, MN, Richard (Patty), Fargo, ND, Robert (Kathy), Columbia Heights, MN; 2 sisters, Kay (Julie) Helland, Devils Lake, ND and Jodi (Gary) Cooper, Sheyenne; long-time companion Deanna Erickson, New Rockford; and her 2 children, Carissa Engstrom, Moorhead, MN and Chris Bichler, Carrington, ND, and their families; and Dale’s dogs Ebony and Chloe. He was preceded in death by his father.
