Gary Ray Nygaard, age 60, of St. Cloud, MN, died on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at his home in St. Cloud of natural causes.

Gary was born on April 30, 1957, in New Rockford, ND to Arden and Mary Jane (Satterlund) Nygaard.  Gary grew up and graduated from New Rockford High School. He joined the US Army in 1975 and received an honorable discharge after serving in Stuttgart, Germany. After his term in the service he returned to the New Rockford area and worked for area construction companies. He later relocated and made his home in St. Cloud. Gary always had a compassionate heart for his pets, Burst (Dachshund) and G.K. (Good Kitty). He was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan.

Gary is survived by his father, Arden Nygaard, Fargo, ND; his siblings, Bruce Nygaard, Beulah, WY, Alan (Mary) Nygaard, Syracuse, NE, Diane Hendrickson, Bismarck, ND, Chris (Ray) Mering, Jamestown, ND, Mike (Marsha) Nygaard, Fargo, ND, Lyle Nygaard, Gillette, WY, Tom Nygaard, Gillette, WY, Jean (Mike) Fisher, Fargo, ND, and Daryl (Angie) Nygaard, Austin, TX; and by his nieces & great nieces, and nephews & great nephews. He also leaves behind a very good friend, Martha Johnson.  

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Nygaard; one sister, Audrey Nygaard and two brothers, Arden Charles and Duane Nygaard.
