Cherilu Pearson

Cherilu Pearson (Fancy Sun), age 38, of Fargo, ND, died on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Essentia Health, Fargo.

Cherilu the beautiful daughter of Jacob Abraham and Myra Pearson was born on November 2, 1979, the youngest of four siblings and the only girl…Our baby!

Cherilu was unique from the day she was born; her name is one of a kind being named after her two aunts Cheryl and Betty Lou. Although the only girl, being around boys most of the time, she often thought she was a boy. Playing in the mud with her brother’s toys or on a few occasions after being all dressed up, nice and pretty she would head for the dirt. Cherilu was our baby, she was often confused with being older than her other half – Randy. Although Randy was older, she was the boss of the duo. She always decided who, what, where and when. No matter what, it was sure to go and very seldom would he second guess her or question her confidence on what her decision was.

Randy obviously knew before anyone, Cherilu was smart, bright, and talented. Through grade school she earned many awards and achievements. She was in the gifted and talented class while in elementary, once rewarded with a trip to Florida. Being the bright star she is, she also played basketball, ran in cross country; participating in a nationals cross country event in Birmingham, Alabama. Finally, one day the girl came out in our baby. She became a cheerleader who was loud, proud, and clear, eventually becoming cheerleading captain. Throughout high school, she continued to excel with her competition for awards and achievements. With her past success, she surprised us all in the 11th grade; she had enough credits to graduate a year early. Upon graduating early, she earned the Salutatorian award in the Four Winds class of 1997. Cherilu continued her education with Cankdeska Cikana Community College earning her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. She continued on at UND for her Bachelor’s degree, not yet finished.

Cherilu had a passion for kids, their wellbeing and working with them. She was an early childhood teacher in the 3-5 year old classroom for a number of years. She also worked with Spirit Lake Tribal Social Services working with children.

During the start of her young adult life she met Jeremy Rainbow, in this union they had four handsome boys – Jeremy Jr., Joran, Justin, and Jacolby Ronald. The 4 J’s. She loved her boys very much and thought the world of them. She had a big heart and enjoyed being around family & friends.

She will be missed by all and never forgotten.

Cherilu is survived by her handsome four J’s: Jeremy Julius, Joran Antonio, Justin Jeffery, and Jacolby Ronald. Message: I can only imagine how happy you are since you been gone. I'm sure you're up above living the life you always dreamed of with going as you please without hurt or any pain.  We talked so much about life and never about death because we'd always say we would be the last ones to go because we wanted to be the "old" women raising heck in the old folk’s home haha. All I can think about is our crazy memories from high school to our recent wild drives around the rez or our messages/texts. We sure knew how to save the world along with every other issue just by talking about it. By time we were done venting about whatever issue, we always ended our convo with talk with you later. I still can't believe this Lou....just wishing you could be here because I know how much you loved your boys, mom and brothers. You always worried about them. But I do know that you'll always be watching from up above making sure they're fine and healthy. Just make sure and come back to visit me I love you Lou and will miss you forever and ever!
