Stanley Hanson

Stan Hanson, age 55, of Sheyenne, ND, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the Sanford Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Stanley Vernon Hanson was born on August 30, 1954 at Devils Lake, ND, the son of Vernon and Elsie Dale (Cudworth) Hanson. He grew up on the family farm located east of Sheyenne. He attended Sheyenne Public School and NDSSS in Wahpeton, ND.

Stan worked in Kiowa, KS as a custom combiner, and in Portland, OR, doing construction before returning to ND where he worked on a farm. He is remembered for his hearty laugh and his love of children.

Stan is survived by his mother Elsie Dale Hanson, Devils Lake, ND, four sisters, Karen (Bob) Meier, Devils Lake, ND, Connie (Jim) Ortner, Russellville, AR, Yvonne (Lee) Olson, Milwaukie, OR, Verna (Dan) Mangin, West Fargo, ND, and companion, Debbie Holter, Sheyenne, ND, along with several nieces and nephews.

Stan was preceded in death by his father Vernon C. Hanson and his brother, and best friend, Dennis Hanson.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Sheyenne, ND
