Theodore L. "Ted" Johnson

Theodore “Ted” Johnson, age 68, of Glenfield, ND, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at his home.

Theodore L. Johnson was born on August 24, 1942, the son of Carl and Leona (Johnson) Johnson in Jamestown, ND. Ted grew up in Glenfield and attended Glenfield School. He graduated from Glenfield/Sutton High School in 1960. Ted continued his education by attending NDSU and Valley City State College. In 1963, he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska for 2 years.

On June 30, 1967, Ted was united in marriage to Linda Marie Kirkeby in Glenfield. They shared their life farming at Glenfield. Ted retired from farming in the late 1990’s.

He especially enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, reading, doing crosswords, and cooking. Ted loved visiting with friends about farming, watching baseball on TV, and loved watching old westerns. He enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren and great grandchild. Ted was well liked by many people. He was a member of the American Legion.

Ted will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Linda; three sons, Eric (Rhoda) and Nate (Nikki), both of Glenfield, and Aaron (Beve), Williston, ND; six grandchildren, Chantel, Michael, Janae, Kaylee, Grace, and Tyler; and great-grandchild, Tatyn.

He was greeted in heaven by his parents; and step-brother, Ray Halvorson.
