Dorothy Wright

 

Dorothy Grace (Posey) Wright, age 94, of Grace City, North Dakota, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford.

Dorothy was born on October 31, 1921 to Dave and Georgina (Nevland) Posey near Grace City. She was raised and attended school in Grace City, graduating in 1939. Dorothy then received a teaching certificate from Minot and following school dedicated her life to education. On May 9, 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage to Dwight Wright at her parent’s farm. Dorothy and Dwight farmed and raised a family in the Grace City area.

Dorothy was of Lutheran faith. She was active in homemakers, church group, 4-H, and the school board. Dorothy enjoyed her family, sewing, quilting, and spending the winters in Arizona.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Dana (Pete) Lies, Leon (Delores), Melva Wright, and a not formally adopted daughter, Judy (Bob) Heidemann; grandchildren, David Parkman, Lester Wright, Tesla Wright, Sara Parkman, Jill Wright, and Anna Jarschke; step-granddaughter, Jenna Bailey; great-grandson, Weston Wright; and sister, Arlene Brandt.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Wright, her brother, Gene Posey, and two sisters, Alice Scanson and Erma Scanson.

Message: To all of Dorothy's family. Our deepest sympathy to each of you. Dorothy held a special place in my heart and I will miss her dearly. I always got special hugs from her and when I would walk up to her I would say hi I have something for you and she'd smile and say I have something for you too. Then we would hug and hug and she totally made my day as I hope I did for her. All my Love and Prayers to each of you. May your memories help you thru this time of loss and ease the pain of losing someone so dear to you.God Bless you all.
