Adeline Molgard
Adeline Molgard, age 79, of New Rockford, ND, died Friday, March 13, 2009, at her home.
Adeline was born November 25, 1929 at rural Hamburg, ND, the daughter of Harold and Effie (Elken) Ecklund. She grew up at Hamburg and attended grade school there. The family moved to New Rockford, ND, where she attended high school. Adeline was united in marriage to Elwood Ystaas on June 21, 1947, at Devils Lake, ND. They farmed in Valhalla Township north of Bremen, ND, for 25 years. Elwood Ystaas died May 8, 1972. Adeline moved to Sheyenne where she worked for Farmers Union Oil for five years. She married Dean Molgard on July 8, 1978, at Sheyenne, ND. He died July 18, 1984. Adeline moved to the Westview Apartments in New Rockford in 2004. Adeline was a member of First Lutheran Church, Sheyenne, ND, and a former member of Eden Lutheran Church and Eden Church Women, rural Sheyenne, ND. She was also a member of the Sheyenne VFW Auxiliary and the New Rockford Eagles Auxiliary. She loved being outdoors and had enjoyed farming with Elwood. Adeline enjoyed crocheting and baking and was known for her fresh baked buns and lefse. Adeline also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Donald (Vicky) Ystaas, Sheyenne, ND; a daughter, Bonnie (David) Tweten, Carrington, ND; one daughter-in-law, Marie Ystaas, Bismarck, ND; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marlys Rohde, West Fargo, ND and a twin sister, Janice Garrett, Springfield, MN. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Elwood and Dean, two sons Darreld and Dean, one daughter Faye, and one step-son Rodney Molgard.
