Daniel Garrity

Daniel James Garrity, age 49, of Carrington, ND, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, ND.

Daniel James Garrity was born on May 10, 1960, the son of George and Lois (Thompson) Garrity at Los Angeles, CA. In 1968, the family moved to New Rockford, ND. Daniel was raised and graduated from high school in 1979. While in high school, he was active in football, wrestling and plays. In high school, he was known by his classmates as “Kung�. He lived in Fargo, ND from 1994 -2005 working at computer graphics and Prairie Home Publishing. In 2005, Daniel moved to Carrington, ND where he worked for Pat Copenhaven, was a flag man on the New Rockford- Carrington Hwy 281 Project, and recently worked for Greg Veen.

He enjoyed reading, watching Jeopardy, the History and Discovery channels, cross word puzzles, kung fu, guns and knives, telling jokes and stories. Daniel was involved in plays and singing in both Fargo and New Rockford.

Daniel was a triplet and is survived by 2 sisters, Regina (David) Young, Sykeston, ND and Peggy LaPoint, Potsdam, NY;and one older sister, Rita (Dean) Garrity-Knudson, Golden Valley, MN; nieces and nephews, Emily and Libby Young, Renae, Nick and Meaghan LaPoint, Tom, Mary and Jack Knudson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lois; one brother, John; infant quintuplets; and infant sister, Jeanette.
