Dwight Ross

Dwight Ross, age 66, of Bremen, ND, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at his home following an eleven month fight with brain cancer.

Dwight Richard Ross was born December 27, 1942, at Mott, ND, the son of Vernon “Bud� and Pauline (Fiedler) Ross. He grew up at Mott and graduated from Mott High School. He then worked for an area farmer, Clarence Domjahn.

Dwight was drafted into the US Army in 1962 and served in Germany until his Honorable Discharge in 1964. He returned to Mott and worked at the Peavy Elevator. On May 31, 1969, Dwight was united in marriage to Janice Vasey at Mott. They lived in Mott, with Dwight working at the elevator until 1973. They then moved to Bremen, ND where Dwight was employed by the Bremen Elevator (later Barlow Grain) until his retirement due to health reasons in September of 2008.

Dwight loved to golf and did so at every opportunity. He also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He had been a pitcher for the Bremen Softball team, and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

He is survived by his wife Janice; three sons, David (Mary) Schlosser, Bismarck, ND, James (Sandi) Schlosser, Harvey, ND, Stephen Ross, Bremen; four grandchildren: Megan & Kandra and Candace & Max; his mother Pauline Ross, Mott; one brother Michael (Suzanne) Ross, Arlington, TX; two sisters Sonja (Bob) Hartze, Lakeland, MN, Brenda (Dan) Phillips, Harwood, ND; and his father-in-law Frank Vasey, Bismarck, ND.

Dwight was preceded in death by his father, and one brother Robert.

Message: I knew Dwight from the 2nd ACR in Nuremberg, Germany. I believe the Army dates are off a little. He was my bunk mate and friend. Sorry for you loss.
