Donald Bennett

Donald Alden Bennett, age 88, of Carrington, ND, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 5, 2018, with his wife by his side.

Donald was born November 23, 1929, in Jamestown, ND, the son of Alden and Annie (Thomson) Bennett. He grew up on the family farm helping with the farming and ranching in the Edmunds area. He attended school in Carrington, graduating from Carrington High School in 1947.

Don was united in marriage to Donna Chaney on September 22, 1951, in Jamestown. They made their home in Edmunds where they farmed and ranched. Together they raised four children. They moved to Carrington in 1989, and moved into the Golden Acres Estates in the fall of 2017.

When Don wasn’t farming you could see him “going for a drive” around the local countryside. He and Donna spent winters in Arizona for over 35 years. He was a member of the Carrington Federated Church, prior to that he was a member of Pingree Congregational Church. He was also a member of the Pingree School board for many years.

Don is survived by his wife Donna, Carrington; daughter Denise Bennett, Owatonna, MN; son Daren (Cheryl) Bennett; Pingree; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister Laura Hall, Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Darcy Bennett; brother Bill Bennett; two sisters Annie Jean Kollman and Clarella Dalby.

Visitation: Friday 9AM - 5PM in Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Funeral Service: Saturday, June 9, 2018 – 2:00PM in Federated Church UCC/UMC, Carrington, ND.
