Amanda Mahler
Amanda Rae (Rekkedal) Mahler, born August 21, 1979, was gently called to heaven on April 12, 2025, to be united in the warm embrace of her beloved parents, Gary and Lynn Rekkedal, as they prepare to watch over those still here. Amanda was a radiant soul; a devoted daughter, a loving wife, an adoring mother, and a cherished friend whose heart touched countless lives. Raised in Oberon, North Dakota, by her dear parents, Gary and Lynn, she blossomed into a kind and spirited woman, graduating from Minnewaukan High School. At Lake Region College in Devils Lake, she made friendships that became her extended family, bonds that would last a lifetime.
She later moved to Minot, where she worked at Marketplace Foods in the deli and then at ING until 2009. That same year, life led her back to her high school sweetheart, Zacharias Mahler. Together, they rekindled their love, moved home to Oberon with their children Anthony, Breanne, and Karissa, and were united in marriage. Their family grew again with the joyful arrival of their son, Odin. In 2014, Amanda and Zac made their home in Maddock. Amanda began working with North Star Community Credit Union and remained deeply involved in the company and various community functions. She had a way of making every room brighter; with her energy, her kindness, and especially her contagious smile.
Amanda will be remembered for that radiant smile, her signature red hair, and the way she always stayed busy, pouring love and effort into everything she did. The world feels a little dimmer without her light.
Life doesn’t prepare us for days like this, but it reminds us how precious our time is. Hold your loved ones close, hug them a little tighter, and cherish every memory; because those last forever, even when time does not.
Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Zac, and their children: Anthony, Breanne, Karissa, and Odin, and mother-in-law, Coral (Lee) Christofferson and her many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins she enjoyed spending time with making memories.
Amanda was welcomed into eternity by her parents, Gary and Lynn Rekkedal, and father-in-law, Myron “Whitey” Mahler and grandparents, Carol and Wally Schwols and grandfather, Anton Rekkedal and grandmother, Clarice Johnson and step-grandfather, Harold Johnson.
Her love will live on in every heart she touched, a beacon of warmth and kindness that will never fade. Amanda will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Amanda’s Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 1:00PM to 6:00PM followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00PM all at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 2:00PM at Calvary Lutheran Church, Oberon, ND.
Her Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Oberon.
