Paul Neis Jr.
Paul Neis Jr. died Monday, July 14, 2025, with his family by his side at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, ND.
Paul James Neis Jr. was born September 18, 1938, at his home in Esmond, ND, to Paul Sr. and Anna (Wentz) Neis. Paul attended school and graduated from Esmond High School in 1957.
Paul met the love of his life, Colleen Eberle. Paul and Colleen were married June 16, 1959, in Esmond, ND. They were blessed with six children: Denise, Gerald, Darlene, Gary, Dean, and Paula.
Paul had a passion for music; he never read a note, he always played by ear. Paul and his brother Jerome were taught to play on an old Pump Organ. They started playing in bars in 1963. As time went on, they had a four-piece band called “The Tune Spinners”. The band spent many weekends playing at bars and for wedding dances.
Through the years, Paul worked construction and in lumberyards throughout the state. Including the Lumberyard in New Rockford and Devils Lake. Paul loved spending time with his family. His children were his blessing in life, and later, the love that he had for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident.
Paul is survived by his six children; Denise (Albert) Pfeiffer, New Rockford, ND, Gerald (Judy) Neis, Rapid City, SD, Darlene (Brian) Bush, Beulah, ND, Gary (Tammy) Neis, Mahnomen, MN, Dean Neis, Carrington, ND, Paula (Shane) Oakland, Devils Lake, ND; 16 Grandchildren; 30 Great Grandchildren; a brother Jerome (Monica) Neis, Carrington, ND; many nieces and nephews; Brother and Sister-in-laws.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen; his parents, Paul Sr. & Anna Neis; a Father and Mother-in-law, Frank (Pauline) Eberle.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lutheran Home of The Good Shepherd, in New Rockford in memory of Paul.
Paul’s Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5:30- 6:30PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30PM followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00PM all at St. John’s Catholic Church, New Rockford.
