Everett Dodds

Everett Edward Dodds, 70, of Langdon, North Dakota, passed away on July 21, 2025, in Grand Forks, surrounded by family.

Born on March 17, 1955, in New Rockford, ND, Everett grew up in a large family as the son of Goldie and David Dodds. He attended high school in New Rockford and later built a life defined by hard work, craftsmanship, and a love for the outdoors.

A skilled general contractor, Everett spent much of his life building and fixing things with his hands. He worked on countless projects throughout his career, including refinishing professional sports courts for teams like the Dallas Mavericks. He had a remarkable talent for woodworking, gardening, and tinkering. There was rarely a day his hands sat still. He had a special love for his dogs, who were constant companions through the years.

Everett is survived by his children: daughter, Jennifer Stewart and her daughter, Taylor Reynolds of Forney, Texas; son, Matt Dodds and his wife, Ashley and their children, Cayden, Zayne, Amelia, and Madeline of McKinney, Texas; and youngest son, Jerred Dodds and his wife, Stevie and their children, Charlie and Bentlee of Salado, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings, Stanley Dodds (Bismarck), Gayle Reis (New Rockford), Ronda Hoffarth (Langdon) and Jerry Dodds (Cathay).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and David; step-mother, Gertrude and siblings, Darlene, June, and Lyle.

A private Graveside Service will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford, ND.

His Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford, ND.

  3. Everett worked with my late husband in the early 1990’s @ Sports R Us and did beautiful floors including the Dallas Mavericks , SWC women’s basketball tournament and several local high schools. Pat said Nobody could outwork Everett. There were only 3 of them doing the floors while Pat’s twin & co owner did the business side. Everett was a valued employee. My prayers for the family ( Jennifer, Matt & Jerrod) and all those wonderful grandchildren I know Everett loved them!! RIP Everett
