Jerome Eli, age 83, of Glenfield, ND, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Regions Hospital Burn Center in Saint Paul, MN, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerome Dennis Eli was born on April 20, 1942, in Foster County to Hassen Jr. and Ida (Hadey) Eli. He grew up in rural Glenfield, where he developed a love for farming, ranching, and the rural way of life. On April 28, 1962, Jerome married Sandra Larson at Juanita Methodist Church in Juanita, ND. They shared 63 years of marriage, and together they were blessed with three sons, Daren, Adam, and Robert; and three daughters, Tamie, Holly, and Angie. Jerome was a proud and loving dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He deeply loved his children, 19 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, and spent many cherished moments with his family and friends.

He was a member of the Glenfield Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed as a child. Friends and family will always remember Jerome for his big smile, witty jokes, hugs, and sense of humor. He had a unique ability to be fun-loving and was always willing to share a laugh. He was known for his kind, big heart, and commitment to his community and family.

Jerome is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; daughters, Tamie (Kerry) Thurn, Holly Dockter, and Angie (Kevin) Schafer; sons, Daren (Valerie) Eli, and Adam Eli; brothers, Roger Eli, Kenny (Mary) Eli, Philip (Donna) Eli, and David (Jackie) Eli; sisters, Frani (Dale) Priebe, Diane Dahl, and Susan (Mike) Kurtz; many dear friends and family members; and Sadie his dog.

Jerome was preceded in death by his son, Robert; great-grandson, Reed Nelson; parents, Hassen and Ida; brothers, Arnold, Rodney, and Larry; sister-in-law, Pat Eli; brother-in-law, Kirby Dahl; and nephew, Derrick Eli.

Jerome’s legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of you who have been so kind and thoughtful at this most difficult time. Your love and friendship now and throughout the years have meant so much to all of us.

May God Bless the Memory of Jerome.

  14. Although I didn’t personally know Jerome well, his 1st cousin, my father Jim Eli, gave me the middle name Jerome in honor of him. Obviously to me and to those that knew him well, he was a great man and will be surely missed.

  22. Jerome is my father-in-law. He gave me an old chainsaw once. I felt like I had to try and get it working again because it was from him. Every time a tree would go down at the farm he would come out and watch us cut it up. I think he just enjoyed watching the saw work🙂.
That old saw and Jerome have a lot in common. Both worked hard their whole life, both seen better days, both a little rough around the edges.

Both have a heart of gold!

Thanks for letting me into your life!

    You go rest now Jerome.
