Darren Iceman
Darren James Iceman Jr. Wanbdi Waha Chanka (Eagle Shield), age 38 of Fort Totten, ND began his journey back to the Spirit World on Saturday, June 7, 2025 with family by his side. D.J. was born in Devils Lake, ND on August 20, 1986, to Patricia “Denice” White and Darren Iceman Sr.
D.J. attended Four Winds Elementary and High School. He also attended Crow Creek High School for a short time. He later earned a GED from Little Hoop Community College. D.J. recently went back to school to work towards carpentry.
He loved his kids, Xoey Taylor and Zavier, while growing up he enjoyed taking them to the park to play and out to their grandpas Melvin Langstaff and “Grandpa Great” to visit. He loved his nieces and nephews and spent time hanging out with them enjoying each other’s company. He always had someone laughing with the crazy things he said and did.
D.J. was the family’s griller when they had family gatherings in the summertime. His mom said he made the best steaks and that she’s sure going to miss them. He enjoyed cooking and would cook for anyone that was hungry at any time. Before his passing he lived with his baby sister Gabby “Wagabbs” and family and he was their chef.
He had a lot of friends and family that he spent time cruising around with or visiting them at their homes hanging out with and having a good time.
D.J. was grateful and appreciated everyone and anything he received. He will truly be missed by all that were blessed to have him in their life. Toksa ake.
D.J. is survived by his children, Zoey Taylor and Zavier (son) Iceman; his parents, Patricia “Denice” White and Darren Iceman Sr; his siblings, Michelle (Steven) Byington of Lawrence, KS, Chad Driver, Brittany Iceman, Gabrielle (Merrill) Iceman, Roanna Demarce and children, Nina Bullhead and daughter, Roanna Demarce and children, Nina Bullhead, Delvin Greywater Jr. and children, Chris (Breann) Cook and children, Joel Cavanaugh, J.J. Ironheart; his nieces and nephews, Skylee, CJ, Ethan, Chassidy, Hans, Zander, Noah, Dion, Jewel, Jordan, Saunders, Dre, Shelby; his two grandsons, Taven “Big sexy” and Peter; grandmas and grandpas, Flo and Spun Dunn, Helena Littleghost, Lilly Owlboy, Jerolyn Longie, Cora Iceman; aunties and uncles, Marsha White and children, Janet White and children, Melissa (Bentley) Greybear and children, Lorraine White and children, Bonnie (John) White and children, Jeanie Rolland and children, ReNae (Hubert) Hart and children, Monica Rosal and Angie, Trudy Iceman and children, Bernadene Littlewind and children, Marcella (Robert) Green and children, Arliss Krulish and children, Arlene Krulish and children, and Delmer Iceman. The late Elmer White Jr. children and the Late Valentino White Sr. children. Hunka family, Ina May Driver and family, Melva, Kathy, Mike, Francis Jr, Darwin, Kayla, and DeAnn (Preston); Grandma Bette Notah and Jeanette Byington.
D.J. is reunited in the spirit world with his little brothers, Dion (Biggs) and Jordan (Shorty) Iceman, whom he missed dearly; his grandparents, Elmer White Sr., Evangeline White, Donald Iceman; numerous aunties, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and loved ones.

Darren’s Wake/Visitation will be Wednesday, at 4:00PM at St. Michael Rec. Center, St. Michael, ND.
Friends wishing to join the procession from New Rockford to St. Michael may gather on the St. Jerome’s road, Fort Totten, prior to 3:30PM.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00AM at St. Michael Rec. Center, St. Michael, ND.
His Burial will be at the St. Michael Cemetery.

RIP my friend. i will miss you, because we were friends and you always had respect and that big
smile, I enjoyed our conversations at the casino, laughing and talking. i will never forget you DJ
