LaDonna Keller

LaDonna Keller, 94, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Carrington, ND.  She was the longest living Carlson to John and Bertha Carlson.

LaDonna Keller was born on August 28, 1931, to Bertha and John Carlson on the Carlson farm, Brantford, ND, the 6th of 7 children.  She married Elmer Flowers on July 5, 1954, and they had four children together.  She married Leonard Keller on December 11, 1977.  LaDonna was a loving and strong woman, who overcame many challenges in her life.  La Donna raised four children on her own.  She was loved by her family.  Her siblings, children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren admired her extraordinary strength.

While raising her four children, she also worked at the New Rockford nursing home with love and compassion for the residents. The family was very grateful when LaDonna met and married Leonard Keller.  Leonard became a very loving, strong, supportive member of the family.  She finally married the love of her life.  She also gained another family, whom she loved very much.  Leonard and LaDonna made lasting memories camping together.  They were members of the Good Sam’s camping organization and took in many adventures with them.

She especially loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed quality time playing games and making memories with each of them.  She spent her last seven-plus years as a resident at the Heritage House, making memories with other residents and the staff.  She spent many hours socializing and visiting with others while enjoying one of her passions, putting together puzzles.

She is survived by 3 children, Donnell (Brad) Doll, Renee (Andy) Schwandt, and Rita (Ron) Huber, 11 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren; 2 stepchildren, Steven (Tina) Keller and Connie (David) Hoerer, and step-daughter-in-law, Renee Keller.  She lives on through many family members, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Keller; son, Darby Flowers; stepson, Gene Keller; 6 siblings: Harry & Lillian Carlson, Clara & Lawrence Bichler, Betty & Ed Dyrness, Freddy & Gladys Carlson, Ellen & Celester Risovi, and Nellie & Jim Anderson.

  2. Sweet kind Aunt Donna! I always enjoyed visits with Donna. So proud of her family. Loved showing pictures of them all. I believe her and my mother helped each other through their last years on earth, they both had their struggles. Thank you Donna for being there for Mom in her last year. I also know they have been there for each other throughout their lives as young women and mothers. So many good memories. She will be missed by so many. Rest in peace. I can only imagine the beautiful reunion of Donna , my mom and Dad and all her loved ones in heaven. So many. Let the wonderful memories of her help you through this difficult time. Rest in Peace sweet Donna. 🩷🙏
