Roger Skadsem

Roger A. Skadsem, age 57, of New Rockford, ND, passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2025, in his home in New Rockford, ND.

Roger Skadsem was born on April 26th, 1968, in Devils Lake, ND. He was the first son of Ann M. and Roger W. Skadsem.

Roger grew up in the St. Michael’s area and graduated from Warwick High School in 1986. Over the years, he held various construction jobs and worked at the elevators in Sheyenne and Oberon. He was also employed with NCZ Express in New Rockford. In addition, Roger was also a clown for Geske and Son’s rodeo for several years.

He had a passion for fishing and loved spending time on the water. Roger also enjoyed playing poker, a love he inherited from his mother, Ann, and he traveled to compete in many poker tournaments over the years.

Aside from his love of fishing and poker, Roger’s greatest joy was his family. He especially treasured time with his grandchildren, Abria, DJ, and Weston, never arriving without gifts and taking every opportunity to make them feel special. He also loved visiting his nieces and nephews and never came empty-handed when he stopped by to see them.

Roger was truly loved and will be dearly missed by his family, including his daughter, Samantha (Nathan) Joramo, Devils Lake; step-son, Duane Mudgett, New Rockford; grandchildren, Abria, DJ, and Weston; siblings, Rodney (Heather), Warwick, Tammi Skadsem, Devils Lake, and special friend, Michelle Hillebrand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Roger Skadsem, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Roger’s Visitation will be Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM all at First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, ND.
