Erva Bartlett

Erva Bartlett, 86, of McHenry, ND, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Ave Maria, Jamestown, ND.

Erva Bartlett was born on May 31, 1936 to Fredrick and Bessie (Simon) Maurer in Warwick, ND. Erva married Richard “Dick” Bartlett on October 5, 1956 in Hamar, ND.  Erva worked for Mayo Construction as the first woman flagger (1968), wrapped meat at the McHenry Store (1975) and at Posi Lock – Lock Gear & Bearing (1979).  She was a member of the Our Saviors Lutheran Church, McHenry, Homemakers, Town & Country Club Committee and was a band mother.  Erva, Dick and the family liked to the go on cruises.  Erva enjoyed spending time with her grandkids

Erva is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Hohenshelt of Texas,  Penny (Clyde) Reister of Streeter, ND and Candice (Leon) Grosz of Hazen, ND; son, Ricky (Julie) Bartlett of Williston, ND; nine grandchildren, Steven (Melissa) Hohenshelt of Texas, Stewart (Marlenys) Hohenshelt of Connecticut, Lance (Jami) Reister of Streeter,  Wade (Wendy) Reister of Medina, Matthew Reister of Medina, Kelsey (Eric) Bartlett of Williston, Kayla Bartlett of Minnesota, Jordan Grosz of Roswell, NM and Christopher Grosz of Bismarck; great-grandchildren, Logan Reister of McHenry and Brooke Reister of Valley City, Alicia Hohenshelt and Paige Hohenshelt of Texas, Brayden Reister and Alexander Reister of Medina and Rowan Berberick of Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Gloria Bartlett; special friends, Carlla Maki and Mitch & Penny Gunderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Bartlett; her parents; six brothers and four sister and son-in-law, Alan Hohenshelt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry and to the Our Saviors Lutheran Church, McHenry.

 

Erva’s Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 2:00PM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, McHenry, ND.

Her Burial will be at the Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry, ND in the Spring.

    So sorry for your loss! She was a beautiful lady with a beautiful smile and laugh. My dad thought the world of her. I saw the comment about wrapping meat made me smile. They were quite a group. Our sympathy and prayers to all of you. God Bless!

  15. I enjoyed Erva when she still lived in McHenry. She was part of a home bible study and liked to talk about our Lord. She was so kind and understanding. Prayers for the family during this difficult time
